Products, sizes and care

Good household linen is the sort that really suits your needs. Before you buy, a few simple checks on the dimensions, the material and care instructions can save you a lot of disappointment.

How do you choose the right size?

Always start by measuring the items you already own: mattresses, duvets, tables, windows or cushions. Don’t rely solely on descriptions such as ‘double bed’ or ‘large table’, as dimensions can vary.

For products available in several sizes, select the exact size before adding to your basket.

Why might colours look different on screen?

Lighting, screen settings and camera settings may slightly alter the perception of a colour. We do our best to display colours accurately, but a shade may appear warmer, cooler or lighter depending on your screen.

If you need to match a product precisely to an existing interior, please do not hesitate to ask us for advice before purchasing.

Should you wash the laundry before using it for the first time?

This is often good practice, and it’s a tip that Mamimosa likes to emphasise. An initial wash suitable for the item helps to remove any residues left over from storage and prepares the fabric for use.

The most important rule, however, is to follow the care label specific to each item: not all fabrics are washed in the same way.

At what temperature should I wash my household linen?

There is no single temperature that is suitable for all fabrics. Always check the product label first. Where this is sufficient for the intended use and hygiene requirements, a moderate temperature generally helps to preserve the fibres and colours better.

How can you make colours last longer?

Follow the recommended temperatures, separate light and dark colours during the first few washes, avoid using too much detergent and do not leave damp laundry in the machine for longer than necessary. For printed or coloured items, turning certain items inside out before washing may also help, depending on their design.

What does ‘Made in France’ mean on a product description?

Where this information is provided, it corresponds to the details given for the specific product in question. Not all products in the shop are made in France: Anna & Moi works with a range of different brands and sources. We therefore prefer to display this information on a product-by-product basis rather than making a general claim.

How do you know which subject to choose?

First, think about how you’ll use it. For bed linen, the feel, breathability and ease of care are very important. For a tablecloth or tea towel, durability and ease of care may be the top priorities. For a throw, softness and warmth are often the main considerations.

If you’re unsure which of two fabrics to choose for a specific purpose, send us the links: we’ll help you compare them.

Can I order several copies for a work project?

Yes. For bulk orders, film shoots, accommodation, business enquiries or interior design projects, please contact us before placing your order. We can check the quantities available and discuss with you whether we can offer a proposal tailored to the volume required.

A product is out of stock: how can I tell if it will be back in stock?

Some products may be restocked and others may not, depending on the collection and the supplier. If you are waiting for a specific item, please email us with its name or a link to it. We will then be able to check whether any information regarding restocking is available.
