On Sunday mornings, breakfast in bed or a glass of water on the nightstand shouldn’t make you forget the pleasure of a welcoming bedroom. Under your fitted sheet, the GENET mattress protector provides absorbent and waterproof protection: a cotton terry cloth top that comes into contact with the bedding, combined with a protective polyurethane coating.
The comfort of cotton terry cloth and waterproof protection
GENET is made with a 100% cotton terry cloth top and a polyurethane (PU) coating that makes it waterproof. Its 100% cotton skirt helps secure it to the mattress. The weight specified for this line is 170 g/m². This combination allows you to enjoy the absorbency of the terry cloth and a barrier against liquids, without having to choose between these two properties.
The protector is described as flexible and adjustable. It fits directly over the mattress, under your regular fitted sheet. Its hemmed edge remains discreet once the bed is made. To complete the look, pillowcases, the duvet cover, and throw pillows can continue to add personality to the bedroom.
How do you choose from the 13 GENET sizes?
The line offers the classic sizes 70 × 190, 80 × 190, 90 × 190, 120 × 190, 140 × 190, 80 × 200, 90 × 200, 140 × 200, 160 × 200, 180 × 200, and 200 × 200 cm. Before selecting your mattress protector, be sure to measure the width and length of your bed: 190 and 200 cm are two different lengths.
Two other models are labeled 2 × 70 × 190 and 2 × 80 × 200 cm. Carefully check the dimensions of your bedding for these specific sizes rather than assuming they correspond to a standard size. Since the exact height of the cover isn’t specified, you should also check this if your mattress is particularly thick.
A white essential for a comfortable bedroom
In white, GENET slips under the sheets without altering your decor choices. Whether you pair it with a light-colored set or warmer tones, you retain the freedom to style your bed to reflect your personal taste. The absorbent terry cloth and PU coating do their job behind the scenes, while your bedding takes center stage.
GENET is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. For this line, the indicated country of origin is China or Portugal; therefore, no single country can be assigned to all of its products. If you prefer the softness of a different fabric, you can also check out the DUO protective fitted sheet made of lyocell, which also combines waterproofing with everyday use.
Mamimosa’s tip for preserving the PU coating
GENET is machine washable at 60°C. Tumble drying at a moderate temperature is permitted; however, ironing and dry cleaning are not allowed. Follow the symbols on the label and leave enough space in the drum so that the protector is washed properly.
Mamimosa recommends that you do not iron the coating. Once the mattress protector is clean and dry, lay it flat on the mattress and then put on your fitted sheet. This way, you’ll have a neat bed without having to go through any complicated steps.
